Important

Please note some instructors may not post all assignments in Canvas so your grade in Canvas may not be based on all assignments in the course. Contact your instructor if you have a question about your grade in the course.

In the global navigation and in the course navigation there is a link to view grades. The list of classes you are currently enrolled in will display. Click on a course to see a list of all grades for that individual course. View the numbered items below.

  1. Grades Notification - When there are new grades a blue badge will appear next to grades in the left navigation and next to the assignment on the grades page.
  2. View Grades for Course - Use the drop down menu OR click Grades in the global menu to view grades from another course.
  3. Print - Click Print Grades to create a printed copy of the grades.
  4. View Feedback - Click the bubble or rubric icon to view the comments and rubric feedback. Click Close when done OR click Show All Details to open all comments and rubrics for all graded assignments. Additionally, click the assignment title to view the assignment submission details page.
  5. Total Grade Toggle – The grades page will display a list of all graded assignments with the current grade for each assignment. The default total only includes graded assignments with a score value. Students can toggle between the current score which is based on what is graded so far in the course or by the final total score which includes all assignments whether they have been graded or not.
  6. What If Grades - Click in the score column to create a “What If” score. The total will update based on the “What If” score. Click Revert to Actual Score to view the current score again.
  7. Muted Assignments – Assignments that are muted by the instructor will not display grades until the instructor unmutes the assignment.
