About Graded Discussions
This is example of graded discussion. Previously, you participated in a focused discussion that was not graded. In graded discussions Instructors may require you to participate in the discussion. For example, you may be asked to answer a study question about course content or give your opinion about a current event that is directly related to the course content you are learning about in the course. Instructors will give you a grade on your participation in the discussion and may also require that you reply to at least two other students' posts. Instructors may also use a rubric to grade your work in the discussion. There is a rubric attached to this discussion. To view the rubric click the gear icon in upper right of the discussion's description.
Example Directions: Is Online Learning for Me?
Online learning provides students with an opportunity to take courses online that they otherwise would not be able to complete because of scheduling conflicts with family and work obligations. While you don’t have to be a computer expert to take an online course, you should be comfortable using web browser and word processing software. Read the articles about the online learning environment and advice from other successful online students. These resources will help you decide if online learning is a perfect match for you and your learning style. Create a reply (post) and share a tip from the articles about studying or time management when taking an online course. Respond to other students in the discussion.
