Google Drive Sync

Google Drive Sync does not apply to Chromebooks

Why install google drive sync

Google Drive sync allows you to access  and edit documents in their native environment (in whatever program they were created in), on or offline. It creates a folder on your computer's hard drive with a duplicate copy of what is on your Google Drive on the web.

Syncing means the contents of the folder and the web are the always the same, when you make a change it one place it will be replicated in the other.

How to install it

Open the selfinstall folder that is on the computer screen.

Open GoogleDrive

Click  googledrivesync to run the application, taking the defaults, make sure you provide your edu.forneyisd.net account when prompted.

Once it is installed you should see  Google Drive in the list of Favorites

Syncing doesn’t always happen automatically, it can sometimes take a few hours for all of the data to show up. Here's how to check if your Google Sync is complete.sync.pngClick the "Show Hidden Icons" up arrow, hover over the Google Drive icon. If the Google Drive icon is greyed out, click and follow the instructions, otherwise it should show if the sync is complete or not.
